2018-19 Awards

  • Jacy Lenard (PC '16, alumna) received the award for Most Outstanding Chapter Member for the year 2018 at the Fraternal Excellence Awards.
  • Sigma Kappa won the anti-hazing week/hazing prevention award for sorority chapters for the second year in a row

2017 Awards

  • National Awards

    • Three Star Chapter Award received by only two chapters in the country! 

    • Louise Helen Coburn Awards - Recognizes one collegiate chapter for outstanding collegiate alumnae programming

    • Wava Chambers Brown Award - Recognizes one collegiate chapter for excellence in maintaining consistent member development programming and encompassing all areas of collegiate programming.

  • Kansas State University Awards

    • Kansas State University's Hazing Prevention Chapter of the Year

    • Dean's Award

    • Won the War of Roses competition put on by Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity 

    • 3rd place in spirit sign for homecoming

2015

  • Ice skating social with new sorority Alpha Gamma Delta

  • New member retreat and Sisterhood retreat

  • Initiated 58 new members

  • Largest membership in chapter's history

  • Mudbowl - 75 teams, raised over $6800Homecoming -placed 4th in Float, Pant the Chant (cheer/stomp competition), and WRL (dance competition).It's the first time we have placed in 3 different events.

  • Alumnae tailgate

  • Participated in and raised over $15,000 for the Walk to End Alzheimer's

  • Decorated 50 flower pots for local retirement homes and delivered to residents

  • Wrote letters to K-State faculty thanking teachers for all the work they do and gave out chocolate dipped spoons for coffee

  • Glow run last spring - 175 participants and raised over $4000

  • RespSKT week - hazing prevention and awareness activities like handing out suckers with logos, interactive booths, etc.

  • Read at local elementary schools - story time and talked with kids

  • Booth at the house before a football game to give out free tattoos and hot cocoa

  • Valentine cards to PHC and IFC chapters, Flower bouquets for Panhellenic council to thank them for their service

  • Welcome back flowers sent to PHC chapters

  • Dinner swaps with Kappa Kappa Gamma, Delta Sigma Phi and Phi Delta Theta

  • Mixer with Alpha Kappa Lambda and Sigma Tau Gamma

  • Flag swaps with neighbor fraternity Phi Delta Theta

  • Mom's, Dad's and Siblings weekends full of events

  • Created a Full House video that went viral for fun during recruitment

  • Miss K-State participant Molly Gardner won crowd favorite

  • Week of giving - service projects throughout the week to support our philanthropies

  • Sisterhood valentine's - wrote notes about what they love about the chapter or a member to hang throughout the house

  • Membership development programming - I've got your back (differences, insecurities), No bodies perfect (body image), Spread the love (letters asking for ALZ walk donations), Etiquette, Date/acquaintance rape, personal values, Internships, Powercat financial counselor finance talk, personal safety, study abroad

  • Purple Circle Award: Achieved between 85%-95% of the criterion for excellence in membership, academics, and sisterhood, assessed by the Kansas State University Greek Affairs Office, chapter award.

  • Ranked 3rd in philanthropy and #1 for community service hours (with 3407 hours, next highest was 1000 less)

  • 4th in Homecoming events that include Float, Pant the Chant (cheer competition), and WRL (dance competition), award criterion determined by Kansas State University Homecoming Committee, chapter award.

  • 1st Place in Beta Sigma Psi's Bubble Soccer Tournament for Habitat for Humanity, received trophy, chapter award.

  • 1st Place in Tau Kappa Epsilon's Flag Football Tournament for St. Jude's Children Research Hospital, received trophy, chapter award.

  • 1st place in PHIve Days of Christmas, a week long competition in support of Phi Delta Theta's philanthropy (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis - ALS), included a toy drive, a gingerbread house decorating competition, and a lip sync competition, we received points for most money raised and most member participation, chapter award.

  • Raised $11,504 in total for the SK Foundation

  • Donated over $7600 and 2800 hours to other greek/campus philanthropy and service events

  • 49 women hold leadership positions in campus organizations
