Sigma Kappa provides valuable leadership development opportunities to its members. As an organization Sigma Kappa encourages our members to be involved in at least one extracurricular activity during their collegiate experience. Because of this focus on involvement outside of Sigma Kappa, our sisters are able to engage with the campus and community in ways that are important to them.
In 2018 we had our Duck Calls and Overalls date party, Our Formal, another date party which theme was Scary versus Sweet for Halloween. We also had a few sisterhood events also, we had a Zumba instructor come to the house and teach us a class and we had a bonfire at a local pumpkin patch.
On top of all the great events Sigma Kappa has to offer, we also participate in outside events! As a chapter, we walk together in the Walk to End Alzheimer's, and this year the walk was in Manhattan, which was very special to us! Each of our members worked very hard to raise money to find a cure. It is great to watch the chapter come together to achieve something so awesome!
Also, our members volunteer outside of Sigma Kappa! Many sisters spend time at the local retirement homes hanging out with the older members of our community. It is very rewarding to see the impact Sigma Kappa has on the community!
